RIDE TO JORDAN LAKE, NC and THE TRAIN HOUSE MUSEUM IN SANFORD, NC

The weather was beautiful today so instead of mowing my lawn, I opted to go for a ride.  I rode through Sanford, NC on NC 87N and turned right on Deep River Road (Old Hwy 1) and rode it through to Pea Ridge Road and finally left on Beaver Creek Road to Popular Point boat ramp and Campground.
Heres my bike near the boat ramp at Popular Point.  I finally figured out how to use the center stand.  I need to practice using it though because its not easy to do.
Jordan Lake is huge.  Its almost 14,000 acres of water.  I had stopped by the New Hope Overlook to take some pictures but the place was too crowded.  They were having a fishing tournament and the parking lot was full of trucks, boat trailers and a set for a FLN TV show.  It was a madhouse.  I kept on riding through to Popular Point.
On the way back I took a different route near Sanford so I would stay off the interstate.  As I was coming into Sanford, I stopped by the Train House Museum on Carthage Street.
They have an awesome looking train in the back.  I've lived near Sanford for a couple of years now and never realized this was in Sanford.
I had to get a picture with the train and my bike.  Yes, I used the center-stand again.  It's getting easier to do.  I just need to do it a lot.
One last shot of the train.  I wonder how old that train is.  I bet there is a lot of history with this train.  Overall this was a fun ride.

My 2012 Triumph Bonneville T100

After many years of admiring Triumph motorcycles I finally bought one.  Its a 2012 Bonneville T-100, air-cooled, DOHC, 865cc parallel-twin.  For my options I chose the single seat with a luggage rack, a roadster windscreen and a center stand.  The color is two-tone Graphite and Phantom Black and I think it looks really cool.  No offense to my Harley friends, I looked at the new Harley's but I just couldn't do it.  Most of my friends ride Harley's and they out-number the Triumphs here at about 1000 to 1.  I just didn't see one I liked.  I know they are good motorcycles and American made but ever since I was a kid I wanted a Triumph.  As a kid, I remember watching the Fonz on the TV show "HAPPY DAYS" riding one, and Steve McQueen also riding one on the movie "THE GREAT ESCAPE".  These bikes have always stuck in my mind so I knew I had to someday own one.
